Overview

The ring. Kael's only habitable world is tidally locked, with one face in perpetual daylight and one in eternal darkness. Everyone lives along the terminator, a band of permanent twilight where the Ringcity runs the entire forty-thousand-kilometre circumference of the planet. There is no sunrise, no sunset and no seasons.

The ring world. Dayside temperatures exceed 150°C and the nightside drops below -100°C, but the terminator band holds between 10°C and 30°C under constant thermal wind. A population of 6 billion lives in the Ringcity, a single continuous arcology following the terminator around the planet.
